Blessing of the Animals

On Sunday October 20th at 5pm we will celebrate St. Francis Day with a blessing of the animals. This short service honors the bonds between God and all creatures. Please join us with your companions – human or non-human! All animals (or pictures) are welcome! Friends and neighbors are welcome. Leashes / cages please!

This year we would like to put “paws” to our service by encouraging you to bring donations for our local animal welfare organizations. The below list was a response to our question of what items are most needed.

  • Clumping and non-clumping cat litter

  • Puppy and kitten milk replacement

  • Dry cat food, canned cat food

  • Purina naturals dry kitten and cat kibble

  • XL wire dog crates

  • Paper towels, bleach, laundry soap, dish soap, fabric softener

  • dog leashes

  • cat carriers,

  • dog/cat treats and toys

  • monetary donations to assist with spay and neuter

  • A desperate need for your old newspapers!

Donations can be brought to the church anytime during regular office hours, or on the day of the blessing.
