Why Read the Bible? Something odd has taken place in the way we "modern" Christians have come to read the Bible. The Reformation, the Enlightenment, and modern historical critical research have all contributed to this change. But yet we keep coming back to this book and its strange narrative full of plagues, miracles, destruction, and rebirth. What gets in our way as we read the Bible and try to make sense of it? Can we regain something constructive and practical from an older approach to the writings of the Old and New Testament that make them worth repeated study? Our Coffee Hour sessions will resume this Sunday at 9:00 as we explore an answer to these questions. Everyone is welcome.
