Companion Parishes

In the spring of 2019, a group of eight people from St. Matthews traveled to Ireland to visit our companion parish. They were Hollis Wright, Chris Parsons, Darin and Tammy Carei, Laura Mockler, Bruce and Pat Noble, and Lucia Webster. Our companion parish is actually two parishes and so we visited both. The larger church is All Saints in Raheny, County Dublin. Their rector, the Rev. Norman McCausland also pastors St. John’s in Clontarf, County Dublin. We were privileged to connect with wonderful people, and enjoyed tremendous hospitality. Among other things, we were given a large and very lovely book on the history of the Church of Ireland that was signed by Rev. Norman and by many members of both churches.

We are putting together a team of people to continue our connection. To date these include Darin and Tammy Carei, Bruce and Pat Noble, Bill Shannon and one other person whose name pastor Hollis forgot to write down! (If that’s you, just let one of the above people know, please.) Anyone else interested can just contact one of the above people.

We cannot thank the good people of All Saints and St. John’s enough. What wonderful people and what a beautiful country!

You can find out more about their church here.
